FANS tuned out in numbers to welcome members of the Team Fiji at Nausori International Airport on Monday upon their return from the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

The team returned home with a gold, silver and two bronze medals in what is termed to be Fiji's best-ever performance at the games.

Sports minister Laisenia Tuitubou, who was part of the Team Fiji delegation, commended the athletes for their achievements.

Weight-lifter Eileen Cikamatana won Fiji's lone gold medal while the Fiji men's 7s team returned with a silver.

Boxer Winstin Hill and weight-lifter Apolonia Vaivai each won a bronze medal.
