MEMBERS of the Kadavu Provincial Secondary School athletics team was boosted with gifts from mobile phone company Digicel yesterday.

The students are here for the Coca-Cola Games which starts tomorrow.

Digicel Fiji chief executive officer Michael Greig said it was a privilege to be able to support the young athletes from Kadavu.

Greig said they knew the island was badly affected by TC Keni and their families were still trying to recover.

"It shows great courage and pride to see these young athletes sail to Suva and ready to be part of the games," Greig told the athletes during the presentation in Suva.

"I am certain that their participation and performance from this Thursday to Saturday will inspire all the people who have been affected by TC Keni across the country. I would like to wish you all the best, go out there and do your best and represent your beautiful island proudly."

Digicel staff presented the athletes with groceries and bottled water to help them during their stay in Suva.

The company will also provide return transport for the athletes and coaches from today until to Saturday for training and participation.

KPSS athletics welfare manager, Rosi Naivota thanked the Digicel team for the assistance provided to the 14-member team.

Naivota said they were grateful to the assistance from Digicel especially as they had suffered a lot during TC Keni.

"We are here to try and perform to the best of our ability and win some medals," Naivota said.

"We are just one school from Kadavu, but we are representing the whole of Kadavu in Suva this weekend."

Digicel is a proud co-sponsor of the Coca-Cola Games.
