Krishna, Jalal stamp mark

THE Mahen Gopal and Anita Persaud of Canada-sponsored two-men 18 holes stroke Ambrose event at the Lautoka Golf Club course produced the third straight new pairs champions last Saturday.

HFC Bank manager financial marketing West James Krishna paired with veteran Abdul Jalal to notch their first win of the season.

The duo netted 61.

Sanjay Gopal and junior champion, Alen Qiokata won the second spot on 63 points followed by James Leger and Tevita Drauniniu who registered 64 points for outright third place.

Mawal Ajay and Lawrence Naidu settled for fourth place on 65 points.

Roneel Prakash took out the professional category on two under par 67.

Manwal Ajay claimed nearest to pin award on the second hole with Roneel Prakash on the ninth hole and the longest drive on the third hole.

Club vice captain Suren Pillay thanked sponsors Mahen Gopal and Anita Persaud.

"Despite the heavy course conditions, the golfers handled the situation by completing the rounds," he said.

Other results: Gaffar Ali and Suren Pillay - 65, Vijay Ram and Shiro Mani - 66, Daven Mudaliar and Vikash Chand - 67, Pritam Singh and Prem Chand - 68, Arvind Pillay and Asish Kumar - 69, Raymond Singh and Robert Joseph - 70.
