Ratu Inoke leads delegation to defence services conference

Update: 8:35PM FIJI'S Minister for Defence and National Security Ratu Inoke Kubuabola led a Government delegation to the Defence Services Asia Exhibition and Conference (DSA) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, this week.

The exhibition and conference coincided with its 30th-anniversary celebration, which according to a Government statement issued tonight makes it the longest running and successful defence exhibition in the Asian region by far.

The Government said that the exhibition had drawn many defence industry leaders, including technologically-advanced warfare systems showcased at the exhibition centre.

It said that included various sectors of disaster and emergency response, cyber security, HADR equipment, counter-terrorism, and maritime security, etcetera.

During their visit, Ratu Inoke and members of the delegation visited the Malaysia Peacekeeping Center and the Malaysia Defence College where a senior RFMF military personnel is pursuing a one-year study.

The minister also had bilateral meetings with Indonesian Minister for Defence Ryamizard Ryacudu, and French Superior Commander of Armed Forces in New Caledonia Major General Thierry Marchand.

Ratu Inoke is accompanied by Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho, senior RFMF and Police officials, including Ministry of Defence personnel.   

The DSA ends tomorrow Thursday, April 19.
